Starting to write

Writing is essential for ourselves. I try to write as much as possible (even if it isn’t compulsory) just to express myself. It is a way to escape from the world, just as if we listen to music, read a book or do sports. However, when I have to write for any particular reason (university, formal letter, etc.), I tend to improve my writing style in order to give a good impression.

When I am starting to write, the first thing I do is to plan a pre-writing technique. I usually work with brainstorming because in my opinion, ideas come faster than in other technique. Once this step is done, I continue by writing the outline of my work. This step can be consider as the back bone of the text, because it reflects how it is going to be. And finally, I proceed to start writing the text.

It is not easy sometimes, either because the topic is complex, or because the words in your head don’t come out. That is why I also use different tools on the Internet to help me with my essay. Every time I’m writing, I need to have a translator tool (such as WordRefence, for word meaning doubts, or Linguee, for syntax and also meaning of English words).

By the time I finish the text, I revise the text for any grammatical or syntax mistakes, and if there’s any, I fix it. And when everything is in its place, it is ready to be published or handed in.
